R2R Maintenance
Analog recording technique delivers, by definition; the most preserved and undistorted sound from sound source, via record/reproduce cycle to sound speakers. However, this sophisticated recording field requires pretty complicated tuning and regular maintenance to record and reproduce the sound with minimal deviation from its original state. Such works we deliver of most, preferably High-End Analog Recorders are:
1. Detailed cleaning, lubrication, test and adjustment of all mechanical assemblies of analog recorders, turntables and other analog technique based on moving recording carrier.
2. Test and adjustment of all mechanical moving parts, as pinch roller pressure, tape tension during Play, Forward and Rewind modes, etc.
3. Demagnetization of recorder heads and other magnetization sensitive parts
4. Check and tuning EQ (equalization) characteristics at Play mode using calibrated Test tape
5. Adjustment of tape Bias and EQ characteristic of the recorder using specific recording tape, i.e. Ampex/Quantegy, BASF, Maxell, etc.
6. Other specific for analog recording calibration works
If you feel your recorder sounds worse than you remember it from years ago, or it neither does work at all nor function properly, most likely the recorder requires R2R Maintenance check-up, or R2R Repair. Contact us via e-mail for service quote, describing your recorder brand, model and specific problems you’ve noticed, and we will take care for it. After you receive a quote from us, all you need is to ship your recorder to us (insured), give us two weeks time in average, and you will receive your recorder back, fully serviced.
